Master Cosmetologist - Licensed

Qualifications:
Required Education & License
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a Master Cosmetologist Training Program and graduated from a state-licensed Cosmetology School.
Some direct experience as a Cosmetologist.
Master Cosmetologist license to provide services in the State of GA.
Responsible for license renewals.  
Be able to complete a background check with satisfactory results as a condition of employment.

Skill Set:

• Creativity, keeping up with trends and providing clients with requested services.   

• Must be a natural people person with exceptional customer service skills.

• Must enjoy talking with customers and listens carefully to the requests of clients.

•  Must possess excellent time-management skills to begin services at clients’ scheduled appointment times and finish up in a timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Master Cosmetologist provides hair, skin and nail services to clients.

• Shampoos, cuts and colors clients’ hair, including perms, scalp treatments and straightening treatments.

• Cleaning and styling wigs.

• Perform facials, makeup applications and body hair removal.

• Offer clients advice on products and at-home skin care treatments.

• Provide manicures and pedicures.

Secondary Tasks:

• Tasked with keeping the work areas clean for clients.  

• Must clean and sterilize tools after each client to keep all equipment sanitary.  

• Answer salon phone calls and book client appointments when necessary. 

• Expected to always maintain a well-groomed and a professional appearance.

Cosmetologist

Qualifications

Summary:
A cosmetologist performs a wide range of services and should be skilled in giving beautification services such as hair and makeup, manicure and pedicure and spa treatments. A Cosmetologist must also be knowledgeable in cosmetic tools and techniques to make people’s hair, nails and skin fresh-looking and more beautiful.

Duties:

• As Skin Care Specialists and Estheticians, must be trained and experienced to remove hair by waxing or electrolysis, give massages, facials and other skin regiments.

• As Make-up artists you are trained experts in makeup application and can offer training and advice to clients.

• As Nail technicians are experts in manicure, pedicure, nail coloring, nail art and extensions, hand and feet care.

• As Shampooers give clients excellent shampooing, conditioning, cutting, coloring and styling hair as well as give hair treatments including cleaning and designing wigs and toupees.

Education and Training Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Relevant training and or cosmetology courses.

• One-to-two years of training and apprenticeship.

• Current State License.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

• Passion for art and expression through creation to make the each guest more beautiful.

• Keeping up with the fashion trend, learning new procedures, visualizing different styles and knowing what makes the guest look their best.

• Advising clients on what suits them best for style and color.

• Listening and talking skills is a must have in order to achieve a good result.

Licensed Spa Massage Therapist

Summary:

The Spa Massage Therapist administers professional massage and body treatments to our guests. Requires thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities, posses a general understanding of body treatments and be willing to train in our spa’s specific massage and body treatment offerings.  Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness solutions to meet the needs of our guests. Must hold and maintain a current GA state license.

Qualifications:

Education, Skills & Training:

High School Diploma or Equivalency

Graduate of accredited program in massage

Licensed Massage therapist in the State of GA

Excellent verbal communication skills

Professional, team oriented individual

Talented service provider

Deep Tissue experience/skills preferred

Duties and Responsibilities:

• The spa therapist must meet all standards of performance and supports/assists other Departments’ staff members in meeting standards as well.

•  Spa Etiquette and Professionalism.

• Customer Service.

• Retail Sales: Service Sales Ratio.

• Strives to minimize product usage, shrinkage and waste through dispensary maintenance.

• General administrative duties.

• Home Care recommendation& Work Ticket utilization.

• Thank You Card administration.

• Dress Code adherence.

• Laundry maintenance.

• Be on time on your shift, prompt with each appointment and, perform services within the appropriate time allotted for the service.

• Great time management skills.

• Provide consistent professional massage and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices by:

• Apply finger and hand pressure to specific points of the body.

• Assess clients' soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength, and range of motion.

• Confer with clients about their medical histories and any problems with stress and/or pain in order to determine whether massage would be helpful.

• Develop and propose client treatment plans that specify which types of massage are to be used.

• Massage and knead the muscles and soft tissues of the human body in order to provide courses of treatment for medical conditions and injuries or wellness maintenance.

• Effectively inform and educate our guests about specific wellness concerns.

• Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa.

• Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls.

• Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered.

• Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures.

• Perform prep work, properly clean and restock room as required.

• Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention.

• Actively promote the spa, treatments, services and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.

• Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.

• Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests.

• Possess the ability to work without direct supervision.

• Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.

• Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa.

• Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.

• Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention. 

Position requirements:

• Previous massage experience preferred.

• Licenses or Certificates.

• Professional Certification.

• License issued by GA State or other regulatory agency.

• First Aid, CPR.

• Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.

• Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality.

• Possess excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge.

• Must be a team player.

• Must hold and maintain a current GA State license.
